I’m not a fan of enterprise online backup. I constantly get requests from PR people asking me to review online backup solutions. I share why I’m hesitant to embrace the category.
Most backup software is tied to the service that you use it with.
I wish in the enterprise you would be able to use something simple like what Duplicity (maybe with a GUI front-end)/Duplicati does: just created (encrypted) archives on pretty much any storage service you want.
No proprietary formats, no vendor or service lock-in, just plain simple backup.
In the enterprise space the simplest solution is usually just have some off-site (replica’s of your) backup-servers.
