I believe Amazon/AWS does something similar as VMware did.
Some companies have created services on top of AWS and payed to be part of the AWS Partnet Network and had long talks about what they are doing with AWS. Then AWS created a service very similar to the service these companies had and sold it for even less.
It is just sad and shows people you are a bad, bad partner and not be trusted.
In the case of AWS, they directly used their partner to know exactly what they build and how they did it.

It makes you think twice about building a business around a major service even if it’s “blessed” by the major provider.
