So, I’m taking the VMware vSphere Install, Configure and Manage course for vSphere 5.0 through Global Knowledge. I’ve been meaning to take this class for the past 3 years in some form so that I can obtain my VCP. Today was the first day of class and it was pretty uneventful. I’ve been involved with ESX/ESXi since VMware ESX version 3.5 so, I have a pretty decent working knowledge of the solution. These classes are great for filling in the gaps in knowledge but getting through the first day or two can be tough as you go through material that you are already very familiar with through working with the product.
The remote lab is a pretty decent setup but the hardware pods that they are using is pretty underwhelming.
